Grant’s gazelle is a large pale gazelle native to eastern Africa, including Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Somalia, South Sudan, and Uganda. Males are larger and generally weigh about 100–145 pounds, while females are often lighter, roughly 77–110 pounds; shoulder height is commonly 30–37 inches. Both sexes have horns, though male horns are longer, heavier, and more ringed. Grant’s gazelles are tan to pale fawn with white underparts, a large white rump area, and dark flank or thigh markings. They are dry-country grazers and browsers. U.S. introduction is primarily through zoos, safari parks, and exotic ranches in the mid-to-late 20th century.
