The vaal rhebok, also called the gray rhebok or common rhebok, is native to upland grasslands and mountain slopes of South Africa and nearby southern African regions. Adults usually weigh about 44–66 pounds and measure roughly 45–49 inches in body length. The coat is woolly and gray-brown, with paler face and underparts; males carry straight, upright horns about 8–10 inches long, while females are hornless. Rhebok are agile, alert antelope adapted to cool, open uplands and rocky slopes. In the United States, they are uncommon and primarily associated with zoos or specialized exotic collections rather than broad ranch production. (Animal Diversity Web)
