De Brazza Monkey

De Brazza’s monkey is a distinctive African primate native to riverine forests, swamp forests, and lowland tropical forests of central Africa. Mature males usually weigh about 15–17 pounds, while females commonly weigh about 9–11 pounds. They have gray agouti coats, black limbs, a white beard, orange brow, and a calm, watchful appearance. De Brazza monkeys are arboreal and terrestrial, feeding on fruits, seeds, leaves, insects, and other small food items. In the United States, they have been maintained mainly in zoos and managed primate collections since the 20th century and are subject to specialized care and regulatory requirements.
